Córdoba Biotech is a project promoted by IMDEEC, the University of Córdoba and FIBICO, and 80 percent co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain FEDER 2014-2020 PO, within the framework of the 'Incubators' program. of high technology for the promotion of innovation and the transfer of technology to microSMEs' of the INCYDE Foundation.
The next November 30, the Assembly Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Córdoba will host the Conference “CÓRDOBA BIOTECH: potential of the province for bioprojects”.
The Conference will present the possibilities of Córdoba as a province of bioentrepreneurship and bioprojects, supported by the capabilities offered by the Bioincubator Córdoba Biotech and the University of Córdoba as drivers of the knowledge economy in the province.
The meeting will bring together the main agents of the sector; entrepreneurs, businessmen, investors and researchers from the field of biotechnology.
The event will feature presentations of success stories of technology-based companies that emerged from the University, as well as driving companies and entrepreneurial projects of biotechnology startups/offers in different thematic blocks throughout the day: agri-food, biomedical and environmental biotechnology.
In addition, the tools for materializing projects and collaborations will be discussed; public financing of national and regional R&D, investment funds specialized in biotechnology, as well as the management and coordination of R&D projects.
The event will also allow participating professionals and entrepreneurs to maintain bilateral meetings between bidders and demanders of biotechnology, in previously scheduled meetings that will take place throughout the day in the enabled networking spaces.

Spain has a new biotechnology reference center: Córdoba Biotech. The Andalusian city hosts a high-tech incubator for entrepreneurship dedicated to hosting biotechnology projects and companies, mainly from the biomedical, agri-food and environmental sectors. An initiative that highlights the potential of the province of Córdoba for bioentrepreneurship and technological capabilities for science-business collaboration.
Currently, at its headquarters in the Rabanales21 Technology Park in Córdoba, it has 33 innovative business projects that are developing their projects. The initiative is promoted by the Municipal Institute of Economic Development and Employment of the City Council of Córdoba (Imdeec), the University of Córdoba (UCO) and the Foundation for Biomedical Research of Córdoba (Fibico), 80 percent co-financed by the European Fund of Regional Development within the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain Feder 2014-2020 PO, within the framework of the 'High-tech incubators for the promotion of innovation and technology transfer to microSMEs' program of the Incyde Foundation.
