To close the 1st International Microbiome Forum, Mr. Pedro Fernández, on behalf of CARM, delivered the paper "Organic amendments as insufficiently estimated nutrient pools", assuming that actions on the soil must necessarily be carried out transversally.

With the starting point that Spain is going to be sanctioned for non-compliance with the nitrates directive, Pedro Fernández addresses the background and challenges when addressing this problem, analyzing the inputs applied in each of the continents, from Africa to Europe, passing through Asia and Oceania, coming from nitrogenous fertilizers and the ethical and moral obligation on the part of Europe to transmit knowledge in this sense derived from experience to the rest of the continents, leading the necessary change in procedures.
